Roswell Throughout the Ages: The Ultimate Challenge
Reformatted by suicide_eagle_rath and lissalou72, with prior input from erinkatie and Skittles1983
This is the mega challenge to beat all challenges…. An anthology in the works comprised of the
greatest stories Roswell writers can create.
The whole main concept of this challenge is ROSWELL and how you
incorporate that word/ concept into your story: Roswell may be a place, person, a philosophy, a food, a god, a
mountain… anything you deem Roswell to be, but the one item it must have is a connection to the characters from the Roswell TV show.
In essence what you are doing is using the characters as actors and placing them inside a new story.
Think of the episode "Summer of '42", where the cast of Roswell
played different people. Create your
own Roswell world; using your favorite characters having them lived in a time that always fascinated you.
For instance you have Max Evans starring as a knight in King Arthur's court with his trusted sword "ROSWELL" or Michael as a soldier in WWI with
his gun nicknamed "ROSWELL". What about Kyle as a convert by Buddha on a quest and changes his name to
"ROSWELL". Think about the girls as power figures, Maria a prophetess in a "ROSWELL" temple of
Greece or Liz as a scientist in modern era battle for diseases and names the cure "ROSWELL".
There are Four Main divisions for you to choose from
#1: The Age of Man which is historical accounts or periods in history. From the prehistoric culture of Cro-Magnon to present day internet wired age.
#2: The Age of Myth which incorporates all the myths of the various cultures from all time periods.
The only restriction on these two divisions is that only ONE if each time/ area may be used. For example if there is already a WWII war story you cannot do it, but you can do another story from that time period. Same for the myth area if someone has a Roman/Greek myth you cannot do the exact same myth but you may do another myth.
#3: The Age of Antar this is open category for stories that deal with the time before the pod squad came to earth, since they were here, or after. This has more latitude for creativity.
#4: The Age of the Future category is for what may happen in the far future minimum of 100 years.
These stories may be CC, AU, UC, Slash, or even a XO. They can be with or without aliens and how you choose to write the story is totally up to you. You may use any character relationship you wish, lover or friends.
The length is entirely up to you as long as you cover the required elements, from short story to mega monster, you decide.
The purpose of this challenge is to give you the writer the most freedom with a set of controlled elements; which are as follows:
-
At least 6 Roswell characters must be incorporated
-
A precious jewel: in the story please include why you chose that jewel and its importance
-
An animal: in the story please include why you chose that animal and its importance
-
A rose/flower: in the story please tell of its importance
-
You must reference the four elements in your story: Air, Water, Earth, and Fire
-
You must somehow use the word "Roswell" and what it means in your story
-
The characters in your story must be on a quest to find something or someone that is lost or to seek out knowledge, or an adventure.. it can be anything you wish
-
There must be an element to bind all the characters together, a theology, something physical, or a dream

Oh and for those who want to know what do I get if I do a story. Fame, fortune, and a really hot gal or guy well maybe in your dreams but in reality your own thread, your own author chat, your own premier showing of the work, plus lots of PR, special awards, banners and binkies on RH.
